Tottenham Hotspur vs Brighton & Hove Albion

Saturday’s Premier League action gets underway at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as high-flying Tottenham Hotspur take on bottom-half Brighton & Hove Albion.

Tottenham have established themselves as the top candidates to claim a coveted fourth-place finish after completing a 4-0 rout of Aston Villa last time out. Having taken their winning Premier League streak to four, ‘Spurs’ will enter this round three points clear of fifth-placed Arsenal. Antonio Conte’s men have inspired a noticeable revival in north London, as Tottenham look to win five consecutive league matches for the first time since December 2018. Whats’ more, the Londoners have picked up a third-most Premier League points behind Liverpool and Manchester City since Conte’s appointment in November. Another successful weekend is well on the cards, with Tottenham winning all four previous Premier League home meetings with Brighton by an aggregate score of 7-2.

On the other hand, Brighton’s dreadful seven-game winless Premier League streak (D1, L6) came to a halt last time out as they eked out a morale-boosting 2-1 win away to Arsenal. Interestingly, they scored one more goal at the Emirates last weekend than they had across their seven previous league outings combined (1). However, the upcoming clash against Tottenham could bring Brighton down back to earth, at least based on their underwhelming nine-game league H2H record in London (W1, D2, L6). On the bright side, though, each of the ‘Seagulls’ last three Premier League triumphs have come away from home, while they are unbeaten in all five top-flight matches in London this season (W2, D3). Yet, their indifferent four-game away record in the Premier League (W2, L2) means they cannot take anything for granted.
