Tottenham Hotspur vs Brentford

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is the venue as Tottenham Hotspur and Brentford go head-to-head in an all-London Premier League match-up.

Extreme weather postponed Tottenham’s weekend fixture at Burnley, handing the new manager Antonio Conte additional time to rally his troops following a poor 2-1 Europa Conference League loss to below-par Mura last time out. After securing a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Leeds United on his Premier League home debut at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Conte will be aiming to navigate ‘Spurs’ to back-to-back top-flight home wins for the first time since August. Though none of Tottenham’s six Premier League home games this season have ended as a draw (W4, L2), five of them have yielded a full-time margin of a single goal, highlighting the potential for an evenly-contested fixture. However, it’s worth noting that ‘Spurs’ have lost their last five Premier League London derbies and could lose six in a row for the first time since 2004.

On the other hand, Brentford claimed a hard-fought 1-0 home win over Everton at the weekend, bringing a five-game winless Premier League streak to a halt (D1, L4). Despite their topsy-turvy form, the ‘Bees’ have been nothing short of outstanding on the road this season, losing just one of their six away league matches to date (W2, D3). Worryingly, though, they’ve conceded six goals in their last two Premier League travels, having let in just two in their opening four beforehand. Moreover, except for a slightly undeserved 1-0 home defeat to Chelsea in mid-October, Thomas Frank’s men have not lost any of their remaining three London derbies in the Premier League this term (W2, D1), beating the likes of Arsenal and West Ham in the process.
