RB Leipzig vs Borussia Dortmund

RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund are set to face each other in a mouth-watering Bundesliga clash at the Red Bull Arena.

Leipzig’s thumping 4-1 home defeat to Shakhtar Donetsk in midweek Champions League action saw head coach Domenico Tedesco relieved of his duties the following day. Now led by former ‘BVB’ boss Marco Rose, ‘Die Roten Bullen’ will be looking to bounce back from a faltering five-match Bundesliga start (W1, D2, L2). Rose has a lot on his plate as Leipzig suffered an embarrassing 4-0 loss at Eintracht Frankfurt last time out, failing to produce a single shot on target for only the third time in their top-flight history. But Rose should be more concerned about Leipzig’s defensive woes that have seen them concede at least once in each of their last 12 meetings with Dortmund.

On the other hand, Borussia Dortmund have found the net in their last 33 Bundesliga outings and are four games away from equalling the second-longest run in club history. Except for a shock 3-2 home defeat to Werder Bremen on matchday three, ‘Die Borussen’ have won all four remaining Bundesliga fixtures this season, three of which via an identical 1-0 scoreline. Yet they kicked off their Champions League campaign in a more convincing manner, thrashing Copenhagen 3-0 at home in midweek. Morever, Edin Terzic’s men have won all three away domestic fixtures this term by an aggregate score of 7-1. That should fill them with confidence as they look to avenge a pair of H2H league defeats in 2021/22, both of which saw them concede 2+ goals.
