Rangers head into proceedings in high spirits following a thumping 3-1 win over Tottenham’s fellow London rivals West Ham United in their most recent summer friendly. A brace of pre-season triumphs ‘to one,’ coupled with a 2-0 extra-time win over Hearts in last season’s Scottish Cup showpiece, may have helped the ‘Gers’ put the Europa League heartbreak behind. More importantly, Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s men have won six consecutive matches in Glasgow since a 2-1 home defeat to arch-rivals Celtic in early April. With five of those six triumphs seeing Rangers score 2+ goals inside the regular 90 minutes, the Ibrox faithful will be looking forward to Tottenham’s visit this weekend.

But they scored one or fewer in the other four, casting doubt on their ability to stay consistent.
