PSG vs Quevilly Rouen

Camp des Loges plays host to Paris Saint-Germain’s maiden pre-season fixture against Ligue 2 outfit Quevilly Rouen.

Led by Mauricio Pochettino, Paris Saint-Germain recovered Ligue 1 supremacy from Lille last season. However, it proved insufficient to keep the Argentine manager at the helm as new boss Christophe Galtier gears up for his touchline debut. ‘Les Parisiens’ capped a title-winning 2021/22 season off on a high, racking up a brace of overwhelming league victories by 4+ goals ‘to nil.’ By extension, the newly-crowned Ligue 1 champions are unbeaten in their last nine matches against domestic rivals (W6, D3), bagging over 2.5 goals in 67% of them. Odds-on pre-match favourites, Paris will be looking to maintain their 100% win ratio against Quevilly, having come out 1-0 victors in their only previous match-up back in 2010.

Meanwhile, Quevilly opened the scoring early in their opening pre-season friendly against fellow lower-league opposition Le Havre but eventually ended up on the wrong side of a 2-1 scoreline. By contrast, Fabien Mercadal’s side rounded off the 2021/22 Ligue 2 campaign with flying colours, winning their final three league matches last season, each by a two-goal margin. Yet, playing on the road tends to spell trouble for Quevilly, as they have alternated between winning (2) and losing (2) across their last four travels. Each game won/lost in that span featured a full-time margin of 2+ goals.
