Pohang Steelers vs Jeju United

Pohang Steelers and Jeju United are set to square off at the Pohang Steel Yard in a top-four K League 1 six-pointer.

After a bit frustrating two-game winless league streak in late June, Pohang Steelers have hit the ground running, racking up an eye-catching three-match winning run in K League 1. Equally impressive on both ends of the pitch, they netted seven goals and conceded just one in return during that sequence. Additionally, the ‘Steelers’ have only lost one of their ten top-flight home fixtures (W6, D3), winning four out of the last five (D1). Staying compact at the back could prove crucial to Pohang’s bid to stretch their high-flying home form, as five of their six home league victories this season have come ‘to nil.’

On the other hand, out-of-sorts Jeju United have lost their last three K League 1 matches on the road by an aggregate score of 9-2, conceding precisely four goals across the most recent two. Yet, they scored on either side of halftime to beat Seongnam 3-2 at home last time out and put a dreadful four-game winless league streak to a halt (D1, L3). The ‘Mountaineers’ have been fun to watch of late, as each of their last four top-flight outings has featured 4+ overall goals. Unfortunately for the travelling fans, Nam Ki-il’s men conceded at least twice in all four abovementioned games.
