Osasuna vs Valencia

The two sides yet to taste defeat in this La Liga season will trade tackles at the Estadio El Sadar as Osasuna take on Valencia.

Osasuna turned a 1-0 HT disadvantage into a 3-2 away win over Cadiz last time out to get off the mark in La Liga this term after playing out consecutive scoreless draws with Espanyol and Celta Vigo in the opening two weekends. If they avoid defeat here, ‘Los Rojillos‘ will record an unbeaten four-game start to a new top-flight season for the fourth time. But bringing the 2020/21 campaign into the equation, the hosts have gone from three home La Liga wins in a row to three straight matches without winning (D2, L1), frustratingly drawing a blank on each occasion. What’s more, going back to late February, Osasuna’s glaring goalscoring issues have seen them fail to score in seven of their last ten home league fixtures.

Despite being troubled by massive off-field setbacks, Valencia have impressed early in the season, going unbeaten in their opening three La Liga matches (W2, D1). Both Valencia’s top-flight wins before the international break came ‘to nil’ and saw them open the scoring by the 11th minute, highlighting the potential for plenty of early action. Indeed, action-packed football has been popular in their recent La Liga H2Hs at the Estadio El Sadar as each of the last three has seen over 3.5 goals and both teams on the scoresheet. Worryingly, though, a 1-1 draw with Granada in their first league trip this season took Valencia’s winless streak in away La Liga games to 11 (D4, L7), six (55.45%) of which saw them fail to find the net. By extension, the visitors have won just one of their last 31 away top-flight matches (D10, L19).
