Leicester City vs West Ham United

Mid-table Leicester City and hot top-four contenders West Ham United are set to square off in an exciting Premier League match-up at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester City’s form wobble continued in midweek as they fell to an underwhelming 2-0 defeat at Liverpool, meaning that none of their last 12 Premier League outings have seen the same outcome as the fixture prior. Winless in their last three league matches on the trot (D1, L2), the ‘Foxes’ have found themselves stuck in the bottom half of the table, with minimal chances of securing European football for next season. What’s more, after a run of three Premier League home victories, Brendan Rodgers’ men have failed to win their last two league games at the King Power (D1, L1) despite breaking the deadlock on both occasions. Leicester’s hopes of getting their stuttering domestic campaign back on track here look improbable as they’ve lost their last three top-flight H2Hs, conceding 3+ goals in each of them.

On the other hand, West Ham United eked out a narrow 1-0 triumph over relegation-threatened Watford last time out, ending a streak of consecutive Premier League defeats. Having leapfrogged Manchester United to fourth, the ‘Hammers’ are now looking to establish some consistency on hostile turf after racking up just two wins from their last seven Premier League travels (D1, L4). Those four defeats in that seven-game sequence are as many as West Ham suffered in their previous 20 away league matches beforehand (W12, D4). Encouragingly, though, the Londoners have found the back of the net in 90% of their Premier League meetings with Leicester (26/29). Meanwhile, manager David Moyes has outplayed his Leicester counterpart Rodgers in their last three competitive encounters.
