Leicester City vs Brighton & Hove Albion

King Power Stadium is the venue as Leicester City and Brighton & Hove Albion lock horns in an exciting Premier League meeting.

Ex-Manchester United interim boss Ruud van Nistelrooy enjoyed a dream touchline debut at Leicester City as the Foxes trounced West Ham 3-1 at home in midweek Premier League action to snap a three-game losing league streak and create a four-point lead on the bottom three. An immediate return to the King Power Stadium, where they’ve blown hot and cold in the top flight this season (W2, D2, L3), could help the Dutch manager build momentum, especially with Leicester’s impressive recent record in Saturday-held Premier League home fixtures (W6, D3, L1). However, Brighton’s visit calls for extreme caution, not least because of Leicester’s woeful four-game winless H2H run (D2, L2). Defying that record would see Van Nistelrooy become only the second manager in Leicester history to win their first two Premier League games in charge.

On the other hand, Brighton lost crucial ground on fourth-placed Manchester City as a dismal 3-1 defeat at Fulham marked their second consecutive winless league outing (D1, L1). Back from a one-game touchline ban, manager Fabian Hurzeler hopes to maintain Brighton’s see-saw away form that has seen them zig-zagging between defeats (3) and victories (2) across their last five Premier League travels. Achieving that feat at the King Power could be a tall order since the Seagulls have never won a top-flight away H2H (D3, L3). Furthermore, Brighton’s last win on this ground in any competition dates back to April 2014, while five of their seven most recent league games against newly promoted teams ended level (W1, L1).
