Leicester City vs Arsenal

King Power Stadium is the venue as Leicester City and Arsenal go head-to-head in a tasty-looking Premier League showdown.

Following Leicester City’s mini-revival in the Premier League (W2, D1), a thumping 3-0 loss at Manchester United last time out brought the ‘Foxes’ back down to earth, leaving them only four points clear of the relegation zone. After netting a whopping 11 goals across three unbeaten top-flight games, Brendan Rodgers’ charges drew a blank at Old Trafford last weekend and could fail to score in back-to-back league games for the first time since early January. Arsenal’s visit to King Power is unlikely to do them any favors, with Leicester losing each of their last four top-flight H2Hs against the ‘Gunners’ by a two-goal margin, including a 4-2 defeat in the reverse fixture in August.

On the other hand, visiting Arsenal halted a rotten three-game winless Premier League run (D1, L2) with a morale-boosting 4-2 victory at Aston Villa last weekend, climbing back to the top of the standings. But with only two points separating the ‘Gunners’ from second-placed Manchester City at the start of this round, there’s no room for error. Mikel Arteta’s men can draw confidence from their outrageous away form this season, having won nine of their 12 league matches on hostile turf to date (D1, L2). Another win here would see the North London outfit register 10+ Premier League triumphs on the road for only the second time in nine seasons, so motivation should not be a problem. They’ve also had a winning formula at King Power lately, winning their last two top-flight visits to this venue, meaning a third consecutive away league win over Leicester for the first time since 1925 is on the cards.
