On top of that, the Yorkshire-based heavyweights could start a new league season with a run of three home wins for the first time since the 2009/10 League One campaign. However, after an eye-catching run of 36 unbeaten home league matches against Everton (W28, D8), the ‘Whites’ have failed to win their last four league H2Hs at Elland Road (D2, L2). Delivering action from the get-go, Jesse Marsch’s men have found the net before halftime in all three competitive home outings this term (W3), netting precisely two first-half goals twice.

In the meantime, after taking their survival battle to the final day last season, Everton seem to be on course for another season-long fight against relegation. Winless in their opening four Premier League matches (D2, L2), the ‘Toffees’ come into this round as one of just three sides yet to win a single top-flight fixture this term. Given the Merseysiders’ dreadful start to the season, gaffer Frank Lampard has come under heavy scrutiny, with any failed attempt to get Everton off the mark in the new Premier League season threatening to facilitate his sack. Its’ been over a decade since the ‘Toffees’ last experienced a worse start to the new top-flight campaign, but this upcoming trip to Leeds could turn their fortunes around.
