Kosovo vs Andorra

Stadiumi Fadil Vokrri is the venue as Euro 2024 qualifying Group I outsiders Kosovo and Andorra go head-to-head on matchday two.

Kosovo’s second Euro qualifying campaign was almost off to a perfect start, yet they could only manage a 1-1 draw in Israel in their Group I curtain-raiser despite leading at halftime. In addition to extending their ongoing unbeaten run in international football to four matches (W1, D3), that result also helped Kosovo end a three-game losing streak in Euro qualifiers. Keen to oust their only Group I compatriots outside FIFA’s top 100 and consolidate their unlikely pursuit of a top-two finish, Kosovo can draw confidence from their three-match home form in European qualifiers. But with no clean sheet in their last eight internationals, there’s no room for complacency in Alain Giresse’s camp.

In the meantime, Andorra suffered their 59th defeat in Euro qualification history (W1, D1), losing 2-0 to Romania in their opening Group I outing last weekend. Despite Koldo Alvarez’s team limiting the damage, their recent record shows that they have only lost by over 2.5 goals once in their last 12 matches, which could provide a decent confidence boost for the Iberian minnows. However, the visitors have traditionally struggled away from home and have only managed to collect a single point from their last 30 Euro qualifiers on foreign soil (L29). The exception was their latest match, drawing 2-2 against Albania. Nevertheless, they should be confident of troubling the score board after doing so in their most recent Euro qualifier following 13 Euro away qualifiers without a goal.
