Juventus vs Inter Milan
A place at the top of the Serie A table is at stake as Juventus and Inter Milan go head-to-head in the 185th top-flight Derby d’Italia at the Allianz Stadium.
Following three years of pain and suffering, Juventus seem destined to fight for the Scudetto on the back of a phenomenal Serie A start. Spared of the distraction of European football, Massimiliano Allegri’s men have racked up an impressive 92% unbeaten ratio across the opening 12 Serie A rounds (W9, D2, L1), winning their last six league outings since a goalless draw at Atalanta in early October. Before squeezing past promoted Cagliari 2-1 on the stroke of the international break, ‘I Bianconeri’ had managed six Serie A clean sheets on the trot, contributing to their sterling record of just seven goals conceded this term. It’s even better at home, where they’ve won their last five top-flight matches since a 1-1 draw against Bologna in August.
Visiting Inter Milan are among a handful of sides capable of knocking Juventus off their perch, even though they’ve only won once in their last ten Serie A H2Hs held in Turin. Furthermore, they lost both top-flight H2Hs in 2022/23 without scoring before exacting their revenge with a 2-1 aggregate triumph in the Coppa Italia semi-finals. However, Simone Inzaghi’s men won’t lack confidence after stringing together nine competitive games without losing (W8, D1) since a 2-1 home defeat to Sassuolo in late September. They’ve also won their last four league matches by a combined score of 8-1 en route to building a two-point lead at the table’s summit. It’s perhaps even more impressive that ‘I Nerazzurri’ have won all five top-flight away fixtures this season, netting 12 goals while conceding just one in return.
