Juventus vs AC Milan

Juventus and AC Milan are set to square off in a blockbuster Serie A contest at the Allianz Stadium.

Back-to-back draws against Torino and Cagliari have heightened the pressure on manager Massimiliano Allegri, even though Juventus are on the verge of returning to the Champions League after a season-long absence. Reaching the Coppa Italia final in midweek and, in turn, securing a chance to win their first piece of silverware since 2021 has offered the Italian coach a lifeline. However, the record-time Serie A champions can’t be proud of their form, having won just one of their last seven league outings (D4, L2). Scoring problems have plagued Juventus’ season, as they’ve failed to get on the scoresheet before halftime in 20 of their 33 league fixtures this season – their worst such tally since 2007/08. On the bright side, they’ll take the field unbeaten in five home matches (W3, D2), keeping a clean sheet in the last three.

Unlike Allegri, Milan boss Stefano Pioli will probably wave goodbye to San Siro this summer, especially after his tenth loss in 15 Derby della Madonnina duels against Inter Milan saw ‘I Nerazzurri’ crowned the Serie A champions earlier this week. Condemned to the second consecutive winless campaign, the visitors have nothing but pride left to play for ahead of their trip to Turin, where they’re unbeaten in their last four meetings with Juventus (W2, D2). Extending that streak to five would be an unprecedented achievement for Milan, as they’ve never held Juventus winless in five successive away H2Hs. Losing just three of their last 13 away matches (W8, D2) bodes well, increasing the likelihood of Milan’s revenge for a narrow 1-0 defeat in the reverse fixture.
