Fiorentina and AC Milan are set to square off in a handsomely-looking Serie A showdown at Stadio Artemio Franchi.

Despite assembling a six-game unbeaten run in all competitions before the international break (W2, D4), Fiorentina could’ve done better had they not conceded equalizers beyond the 85-minute mark in their last two outings. As the only Serie A team still competing on three fronts, Vincenzo Italiano’s men brace themselves for a busy schedule down the final stretch and will be keen to get things going with a third consecutive home win against Milan. Stadio Artemio Franchi has been Fiorentina’s safe haven as they’ve only lost once in their last 13 home matches (W9, D3), with the only blemish on this impressive streak coming against runaway Serie A leaders Inter Milan. Eight points blow fifth-placed Roma, albeit with a game in hand, they’ll look to uphold their stunning home form to increase their chances of securing their first top-five finish since 2015/16.

On the other hand, Milan went from strength to strength before the international break, racking up a five-game winning streak in all competitions, including a 7-3 aggregate triumph against Slavia Prague in the Europa League round of 16. Three consecutive league victories, bookended by a 3-1 triumph at Hellas Verona last time out, have seen ‘I Rossoneri’ leapfrog Juventus into second. But with top-placed Inter 14 points off, Milan will probably have to settle for a runner-up finish. That doesn’t mean they can’t entertain neutrals, as they’ve recently done on the road, where six of their last seven league matches have featured 4+ goals. Stefano Pioli’s free-scoring forwards have netted at least two goals in nine of their ten away matches in Serie A since late October. But they only kept one clean sheet in that sequence.
