Denmark vs Israel

Denmark and Israel are set to trade tackles in an exciting top-of-the-table World Cup qualifying Group F showdown at Parken Stadium.

Denmark look to be on the cusp of ensuring back-to-back appearances at the World Cup finals for the first time since 1998 and 2002 after winning all five 2022 World Cup qualifying matches to date. It’s not only about winning but the way they’ve done so. Before eking out a narrow 1-0 triumph against the Faroe Islands on the road last time out, Denmark had won each of their previous four Group F fixtures by 2+ goals ‘to nil,’ returning a +16 goal difference from those wins. Kasper Hjumland’s men remain the only nation in the ongoing qualifying campaign yet to concede a goal. Another blank sheet here would help bring them a step closer to becoming the first nation since England in the 1990 World Cup qualifiers to see out the entire qualifying campaign without conceding.

In the meantime, the visitors have bounced back from a sluggish two-game start to their Group F journey (D1, L1), racking up a three-game winning streak to climb to second in the standings despite the odds. Additionally, the Israelis have managed to win each of those matches in emphatic fashion, prevailing by at least a three-goal margin on each occasion, including a 5-2 home thrashing of Austria last time out. Though the ‘Blue and Whites’ have failed to feature in the World Cup finals since 1970, a positive outcome here could see them make a decisive step towards securing a runner-up finish. In addition to picking up three victories from their last four international travels (L1), Willibald Ruttensteiner’s men have managed to entertain the fans, with each of those fixtures containing over 3.5 total goals.
