Brighton & Hove Albion vs Tottenham Hotspur

Brighton & Hove Albion and Tottenham Hotspur are set to trade tackles in a handsomely-looking Premier League encounter at the Amex Stadium.

Brighton’s rough patch in the Premier League continued with a 1-1 midweek draw at Crystal Palace, demoting Roberto De Zerbi’s injury-hit squad to ninth in the standings. With high-scoring wins over bottom-half Nottingham Forest and Brentford remaining their only victories across their last 12 league outings (D6, L4), the ‘Seagulls’ can be happy to commence this round only four points below sixth-placed Manchester United. Blunders at the back and one of the Premier League’s youngest line-ups have contributed to Brighton’s dismal defensive record of zero clean sheets from 18 league games this season. It’s hard to expect De Zerbi’s team to record one here after losing their last two top-flight H2Hs against Tottenham ‘to nil.’

Meanwhile, Tottenham’s quick-fire start featuring two goals inside the opening 20 minutes laid the foundation for a 2-1 home win against Everton at the weekend, moving them back within a one-point distance of the top-four. Ange Postecoglou’s men have seemingly overcome a troubled sequence in November as they head into proceedings on the back of three straight league triumphs, all of which saw them score multiple goals. But despite boasting the second-best away record in the Premier League (W5, D3, L1), ‘Spurs’ can’t take anything for granted, considering they’ve blown hot and cold across their last three top-flight travels (W1, D1, L1). With two of those three matches producing goals in second-half stoppages, late action could be on the cards.
