In the meantime, Liverpool had to fight back twice to hold Arsenal to a dramatic 2-2 draw at the weekend for their first stalemate under new manager Arne Slot (W11, L1). That result knocked them down from a phenomenal eight-game winning streak in all competitions, during which they hammered West Ham 5-1 in this competition despite conceding an early opener. Interestingly, the draw in North London marked the first time that the Reds capitulated more than once per game under Jurgen Klopp’s successor, highlighting their notable defensive improvement compared to last season.
